As an afterthought - the answer to 1ac is obvious but I can't fathom the wordplay, especially where the misprinted Y goes.

There's a misprint in the clue - and the corrections spell out a work... In this clue, for thematic reasons, we need a Y. (The answer to the clue is a well-known shrub, just in case anyone is wondering.)
