Am in this afternoon and just had Countdown on - what a brilliant young contestant, only 17 I think and going for the big 8 tomorrow afternoon and having just broken his highest score to register 135. He's so fast when it comes to the anagrams as well...

I pity his fellow contestants in running into this verbal and mathematical maelstrom....

I enjoy playing along every day. Like his opponents I never got anywhere near him. Ronan's a very talent young player. Roll on Monday, two new players.

I had never heard of the guest, Cally Beaton, not sure what to make of her. I suspect she is quite funny, if a little sweary for a daytime game show.

I've seen her on QI a few times, a funny lady.

I do feel sorry for the opponents of these 'super champs' though. It would be good if they had another shot at it after a year or so
