Apparently we are supposed to know about different types of plastic amongst other things. I am afraid I have given up doing the recycling company's job for them these days.
About six years ago an access road adjacent to our local Sainsbury had four large Biffas for different coloured glass bottles at the recycling area. I diligently used them for the correct coloured bottles. About a week after the New year the road was completely blocked with cardboard boxes full of empty bottles and literally thousands of loose bottles. A grab truck came along with a massive skip on the back and the operatives just scooped all those bottles of varying colours and placed them in the skip. I asked myself why I ever bothered and now I can't. Some recycling plants were incapable of handling the recyclables so paid China and other countries to take at great expense no doubt.
