I don't have a TV so I usually miss the odd act on things like BGT that are enjoyable.

I just heard this and the guy managed to sing a Scottish song with a Scottish accent. It is a lovely song - 'Caledonia' and 'Flower of Scotland' - these songs are our National Anthem.

Thanks for that, Susan. He's certainly got a fine voice. It's a very different take on 'Caledonia' from that of Dougie Maclean, whose version is far gentler in its tone:
‘ pure dead brilliant’, so it is .
I don't watch BGT either. However I do occasionally come across some fine performances from the show on YouTube. I use the end bit of this (from 1:32 onwards) as the ring tone on my phone:

I am not sure about kids entering these competitions.

I know of too many parents who push their little darlings into singing, dancing etc to fulfil their own dreams and the kids have no say.

Also - fame is a double-edged sword, being famous and in the spotlight isn't as much fun as they think that it is going to be.

Sorry to be so depressing. I can't sing, dance, knit, sew, swim, cook or drive! ☺☺☺

I bet you tell a good story though . :-)
