The answer to 'Note Ben set light differently to economise ' was apparently 'Tighten ones seet ' !!!!!

Can't be. It's an anagram of 'note ben set light'. Tighten one's belt is economise.

Bob I've just dug the paper out of the recycling and as far as I can see 'belt' fits fine.

Bob it could have just been a printing error of the paper which has happened a few times in the past. I can remember Danny writing to them and getting that answer. In other words there was a difference between the printed and the online versions

I checked with the completed crossword in the puzzles and prizes section of My Mail for yesterdays crossword. If you go in options you can reveal the solutions . and that's what 7 down said .

Hi Pearl thanks for looking, it just has to be a typo at the paper otherwise it just does not make any sense. It's happened quite a few times before
