I think cases should be judged by unbiased professional legal eagles before it goes to court, and the situation regarding what one is liable for, for each possible outcome, determined in advance.

Someone with a genuine/realisic claim to justice ought not have to find the money to go for it themselves. Those aware that a loss is very likely ought to be told that in the event of losing the costs that will be theirs to cover. Deciding afterwards seems a bit off.

if you're okay footing Boris's legal aid, I can't see any reason to balk at Harry's. Perhaps the question is why Britain's legal system costs so much.
