Do you like having a trail round charity shops? Do you buy anything?
I mainly buy books but sometimes I might see a designer handbag.

On yes, I miss being able to walk round carboots, just visit a couple of plant stalls nowadays. Two brilliant car boot buys last year... A large box of artists quality watercolour half pans, most not even opened,£15, and a large carrier bag with pretty much every colour of DMC thread, a load of anchor , and bundles of more specialist ones. Best guess at value in...

I have a friend who can make some beautiful clothes from charity shop finds. All I see is racks of dusty shirts and terrible shoes.

I do like a bargain from the bookshelves. My sister laughed when she was charged just 5p for a lovely edition of Rebecca.

Wolf63. I often wonder, do Charity shops bring in a valuer to value items which have been donated and are rarer than others?
I miss the charity shops they used to have in our local hospital. They were always well used. Replaced now by a shop selling brand new pricey goods .I never see anyone buying anything now.
I found a lovely pair of good quality, women's black trousers a couple of months ago, for £5. When I looked at label, they were Ralph Lauren. My daughter said they are very expensive. So I looked on line and seen a similar pair. The ones I had started at £129!

Not in our shop, I value books and postcards. It is not an exact science, we find out what others are asking for the same item and ask for less.

Our fiction selection is, in my opinion, expensive. But for non-fiction, we have an amazing selection of books for sale online. Currently, we have 175,054 for sale online!!

It certainly was! Like new, too :-)

Wolf63. Until I posted this, I never knew there were charity shops online! Must check.
which on line shop is that has 134000 books ?
I can honestly say everything In 'Barnardo's where I have worked everything was always vetted cleaned etc... (I worked out of site where the muck and grind had to be done), unfortunately the books that had being generously donated I never got to see.
I buy lots of second hand books, World of books is my go to, great for specialist needlecraft books. Amazon used books rarely new ones,,
The more affluent the city , the better selection and quality, but also more expensive.
