It's chilly and blustery today, so hot food for a change...pork and black pudding meatballs. I discovered the idea of incorporating black pudding from a Nigella Lawson recipe, and it's become a favourite. But I devised my own method as hers was way too complicated ;)
So what will be on your plate later?

As I was cooking for myself last night I had sausage, black pudding egg and chips. To might we are using up all the salad items in the chiller box before they perish. I'll open up a tin of pilchards with mine and dice up some Goats Cheese.
Loads of cold cuts in the fridge, so a selection with a salad, maybe the first tomatoes from the balcony, and fresh fruit salad .....
Saturday night is Curry night!
Thanks to Waitrose pop in the oven ones.
Local butchers award winning old English sausages in freshly baked baguettes. Followed by strawberries, preceded by a couple of G&Ts.
Like the sound of pork and black pud meatballs, what do you have them with pasta? Is there a sauce to make to go with them?
Steak pie (butcher's), broccoli, new potatoes.
Strawberries and cream (getting ready for Wimbledon)

I cook them in a fresh tomato sauce vagus. I've got some baby plum tomatoes that are a bit past it, so I'll use them. I also have some cauli rice steam bags in the freezer, so I'll have that.
Otherwise, creamy cheesy mash or sweet potato fries.

Patsy, I've not had a curry in ages. Must think of something to do with the tin of coconut cream I've got.

Here is Nigella's recipe. I prefer pork mince as its fattier...though this time I'm adding a lone beef burger that was lurking in the freezer.

Some chicken that I took out of the freezer that I will grill with harissa. Spinach and feta borek and olives, home made houmos etc. I`d rather have curry but the chicken needs to be used.
I like coconut, Pasta, but oh doesn't. I sometimes make my own curry but can't be bothered these days.
Enjoy you meatballs :-)

237SJ...I love harissa. I add it to anything.
Same as Retro had last night but without the black pudding.
Wouldn't eat that if you paid me.
A beef steak stir fry with noodles. OH bought 2 rump steaks but doesn't fancy that now, fgs. I am determined not to waste them so will go for a makeover ;) Shall velvetise them and look forward to a quick cooked meal. Just the veg to prep first! Bon appetit to the cooks :)
What’s velvetised steak???
And thanks for that link pasta, I too prefer pork mince , or certainly a mix of pork and beef at times.
Well they all sound delicious, for me Cottage pie, Fishermans Pie or Pepperoni Pizza, all from the freezer I haven't decided yet but had a timely reminder reading this to take the Bacon out.

Barsel...have you ever tried black pudding? Before my daughter introduced me to it, I thought 'no way'. But I quickly changed my mind.
Pasta, no I've never tried it since I found out what is in it.
It's not even a nice-looking food.
2 other foodstuffs I would never try are tripe and haggis, for the same reason.
Apologies to our Scottish Abers.
All I've had to eat so far today is a smoked haddock fillet with a well-buttered jacket potato, followed by a. mega-portion of strawberries topped with sugar.
