What's your opinion on tattoos?

They're not for me personally but some of them showcase outstanding artwork bordering on sheer brilliance.

How do you feel about tattoos and do you have any of your own?

I saw a really interesting documentary about Komodo dragons - for years naturalists thought that when they bit a buffalo, they had so much poison in their saliva that it killed the buffalo.

Turns out that's not true - they just have a powerful anti-coagulant, so all they have to do is stroll after the buffalo and wait until it bleeds to death.

I must correct my previous info - apparently prey that get away are just that - the Komodo does try to kill its prey without it escaping.

Buffalo that get away tend to head for water, and fecal bacteria causes infection which will then kill them.

I put a thread on here some years ago about my 18yr old son having a tattoo for his birthday.
I told him I would kick him out if he did so.
Well, all hell broke loose! The self righteous, judgemental posters all piled into me!
7yrs later on his 25th birthday he thanked me for stopping him.
BTW, I used to work for the probation service and have seen all number of tats. The worst being a swastika and eff off across someones forehead.

Particularly horrible on the neck and back of the hand, both of which are increasingly seen these days
