Perhaps Better Placed In Law

But CB gets more traffic...
In a bit of a pickle...
I have been issued with court costs totaling £161, to be paid at £5 p/w
Upon leaving court the usher gave me a leaflet detailing fine collection procedures etc
including that I can request a post office payment card (which is what I want)
and a telephone number to ring re: any enquries.
I have now received a letter, detailing my case and costs and a telephone number to ring to
arrange payment.
However, the number is automated and only accepts bank details for DD.
So i ring the number that the usher gave me and after much "Press this, that & the other"
was told that they cant help me as they dont deal with payment cards. She then gave
me a number to ring which was the number that I rang initially to get through.
What am I supposed to do?
If I dont make payment within 28 days I can be re-arrested for non payment
but I don't have an option for getting a payment card.

If you have a debit card, you can pay it online here

Have you contacted the Enforcement Officer? You should be able to pay by payment card.
"Contact the Enforcement Office listed on the notice of fine to pay by direct debit, payment card or bank transfer."
https:/ /www.go v.uk/pa y-court -fine-o nline
If that fails do you have a friend or relative that is willing to pay by card or bank transfer on receipt of the cash from you?

I'm glad you got it sorted, Nailedit.
It reminds me a bit of when I wanted to pay an Ofcom invoice last year. The email it came with provided a link but it didn't seem to work. So I logged into my Ofcom account and looked to see if the invoice was shown there. It wasn't.
When I phoned Ofcom about it, I was told that they knew that the link that they were sending out in their automatically-generated emails was wrong, as it had been for years, but they couldn't get anybody to fix it! Once I'd been given the correct link, I was able to send the payment with just a few clicks.
