Just done a load of washing, added my conditioner via the tray unloaded washing and my newly washed clothes have no smell!!! It is beginning to be a waste of money buying conditioner. Unless I'm using the wrong stuff. What do you use if any???

Don't use any, clogs up the washing machine too much.
I haven’t used fabric conditioner for years and never missed it. Don’t see the point in it.
I don't use it either. I was advised against it by a dermatologist who said it left a residue on your clothes that can cause all sorts of skin problems
Same here, Tissy.
I don't use fabric conditioner as such, I use Bold, lavender, and have never had any issuse with it. It does leave a faint scent.
I don't use it
I haven't used it for years either, some garment labels actually say not to use it
I don't use it. I want my clothes clean not impregnated with some conditioner.
I use Comfort Pure which has no smell. I've used conditioner for years and use it on everything except towels. I'll try a wash without it and see if it makes any difference the next time I do washing.
I think they are many products on the market that could be in the waste of money bracket, many that have become more of a habit than anything else. I've never used FC, all in all its not a bad idea in these expensive time to take a look of items we could do without using.
The saving could make a big difference to your total shopping bill.
I don't use any, and my laundry detergent...persil...leaves a faint scent. How many smells do I need?
there are^^
I use Persil too, don't know if there's any conditioner in it but I like the faint smell it leaves on my washing.

I don't add any extra conditioner.

I use a tablespoon of soda crystals in every wash it helps to keep limescale at bay and softens the water so no need for fabric softener and a lot cheaper

I have heard that one before Margotester. I must try that. One thing for sure, I have bought my last bottle of conditioner!!
When I do the laundry I use none. My wife uses either Lenor, comfort or Sainsbury's own but only on her clothes. She won't use it on towels as she prefers the texture a bit rough and doesn't use it on sheets and pillowcases.
I use Fairy mild
Well, retro, from what I've read, if your wife likes rough towels she definitely ought to be using conditioner on them. As I recall, it messes with absorbance. Advice seemed to be to just wash in water to try undo the process and bring back towel softness.
Never use it. Don't like synthetic smells anywhere.
Washing smells lovely just brought in off the line.
I use Ariel and Lenor Chic. Even visitors can smell the fragrance walking up the path as the washing is on the line.
