I'm in the market for a new tablet...and its Prime day.
My current tablet is 32gb and is just about at its limit storage-wise. Mostly photos, some music, a back log of old emails. Used for the above and browsing egg.
I can delete more photos and clear files etc, but yhat doesn't seem to free up much space.
Should I upgrade to 64?

Yes pasta, treat yourself :-)
Most of that will be the OS and other shee-ite, I'd be surprised if your personal files ever reached 10gb.
Yes, go for the biggest size. Although it's a bit like a handbag, the more room you have, the more you fill.
In 30 years my personal files photos etc are less than 6gb.

TTT...I've read that all the pre-loaded stuff leaves only about 17gb free out of 32.
Yes
If you can, buy one with expandable storage capable of storing your music, photos, vids, etc on a memory card.
Don't trust a memory card - they do fail.
Store precious photos in Google Photos or similar.
Move media you don't actually need on the tablet, elsewhere. That should free up a fair bit.

That aside, the more memory the better. Go for it I say.
One of my tablets is 32GB,it was very cheap but I wouldn't buy another with such little storage. The apps grow and grow so i keep uninstalling them and then downloading them again to keep them in check.
If i intended keeping it for a few years I would consider a 256GB, especially as some are now as powerful as a laptop and can be hooked up to keyboard and other peripherals.

Decide exactly what you want it for before buying. Some are over £1000
Obviously.
I bought a new ipad just before Christmas,it has 256 gb storage. It was £459. (Or thereabouts).
The 2021 iPad? Still recommended over the much more expensive 2022 version in many reviews and mags.
I would buy it if I needed one today
Yes barry, 2021 version.
Sorry, pressed too soon. I had rung my bil about whether I should buy a reconditioned one and he sent the link to the one I ended up with. It does what I want to do and throughout the year I had won nearly that much on Premium Bonds so that almost paid for it.
Buy the biggest memory you can afford, Pasta, you’ll never regret it, whereas you may regret not buying it.
