Those of you thinking of enjoying spending hours in a very long queue at Dover, courtesy of Brexit – may not be aware that a number of French cities have introduced a Low Emission Zone scheme, similar to that in London, requiring you to buy a permit to drive within those zones.

You might think being a foreign registered vehicle, that you can get away without such bothersome things – but the French police can and will fine you on the spot.

It's nothing to do with Brexit - the zones apply to all nationalities visiting those countries.

The long queues at Dover is a result of French belligerence. Nothing new there.

Retro... I presume that long queues at Dover would be because of the fact that we are no longer part of the EU and are thus required to pass through the same passport and document checks as all other non EU countries have done in the past.

Shame the French immigration authorities are'nt so diligent in their border control and passport checks when they allow all these illegal immigrants through ports like Marseille and wave them off in their little rubber boats isn't? The French being bloody minded again. They didn't ask for passports on 6th June 1944.
