Just one from The Times this Friday :-
6Dn :- From opening that's inconclusive, white finally in superior position (5) A?O?E. The only two words I can come up with that more or less equate to what I think is the Definition ("in superior position"), are ABOVE and AROSE.
ABOVE fits the definition, but I can't parse it.
AROSE sort of fits the definition, but the parsing is absurd :- If "opening" is a window, and a rose is a type of window, then a window that is inconclusive would be AROS. If "white finally" is E, it produces AROSE. But it seems totally daft to take E away from ROSE (via inconclusive), only to then reinstate it (via whitE finally).
Any ideas? TIA
