I was classed as pre diabetic in February, I cut back but obviously too drastically as I lost 10lbs.
My latest blood test shows I'm no longer pre diabetic but have very low sodium levels. I've to cut back on fluid intake to about 1 litre and have another blood test soon. What did I possibly do wrong? I was eating my 5 a day, cutting out lots of chocolate and other goodies and drinking plenty of fluids. What can I do now to rectify this please? I have the symptoms of low sodium.

Perhaps you were drinking too much water.

I was drinking about 2 litres
It may well be that you did nothing wrong or the post of Hopkirk above may have hit the nail on the head. However one cannot go any further in you quandary until we know what drugs you are taking and the results of further blood tests.

Be patient......wait and see.
Are you on any medications which might have caused the problem? e.g. Omeprazole and Amlodipine are routinely taken by loads of people and are known to result in low sodium levels in some patients (as, indeed, are many other drugs)
An additional 2 litres on top of food ?

Have to say I didn't give up on salt, life is too short to make oneself miserable. Was bad enough minimising carbohydrates.

I do take Amplodipine and was on Omeprazole, have recently stopped that after 30 months, I had a blood test to check kidneys but all fine. I also take Simvastatin 10mg. and Bisoprolol 125 plus aspirin
No clues there.
I would suggest a repeat of your blood sodium levels.
