getting toddlers used to the cinema
2 Answers
we love going to the flicks and my 3 year old is now at the age where he will sit through a whole film - incredibles, wallace and grommit etc, so i took him to see cars.
The same thing happened that happened to my other two at this age - he was terrified when the lights went out and the sound began. he screamed so much, i had to bring him out before the film even started.
It got me thinking, why don't cinemas do a toddler's taster session? Where, once a month they could show a film, or even familiar dvds, with the lights on or slightly dimmed. The sound doesn't have to be really loud and parents could take the children in and out, without disturbing people who really want to see the film.
What do you think - good idea? Should I approach the local odeon?

Watching the Videos with all the lights off and by taking them to the cinema quite early so that they could get used to what it looked like. Some cinemas do do kids clubs when the lights are not too dim now but you would have to check whether yours does
