do you think they should be dressed the same?
i think its okay to have them dress the same, but maybe in different colours, or with different hair, because they need to be individual, not just to be identicle.

near where i live there are twins who are women and maybe around the age of 50, and they are identicle, they wear the same outfit, shoes, jewellery, have the same hairstyle, bags. i find it really odd, as do people i know.

what are your opinions on twins dressing the same?

i suppose as with your previous posting everyone to their own but i would find it a bit strange as very rarely would people be so much the same they would have identical tastes. I have identical twin nieces. I am not saying when they were very young they were never dressed the same but rarely. If we bought them presents though we were very careful to get something similar but different but that was more incase the one wanted what the other one had, being careful to spend the same money on them and things. Now they are older they are quite different which reflect their personalities although of course still look the same. Suppose their hair is similar but would not even wear each others clothes now. You might feel an incredible closeness to a lifelong friend but would not want to be wearing the same clothes as them either. My sister and I are 3 years apart and when very young we often got dressed the same but as soon as sister was old enough to express her own opinions this stopped.

i have identicle twin cousins who are 17 year old girls from russia, they look very similar and have very similar tastes. they have slightly different hairstyles, and cant imagine that they would want to have exactly the same outfits!
i think its ok when they are little as its easier to just have a two sets of everything, but as they get older i think they should be a bit different. as joannie said, i too was dressed the same as my sister even though we are not twins.

if adults choose to do this then that is up to them ... a bit weird though i think
I think it's ok if they're adults and they've made that decision between themselves, though it must be a bit odd to see! I do however find it awful to see twins as children dressed identically unless it's for one of those twee photos to send out to family etc. They're both individuals and should be respected as such, just because they're little doesn't mean they shouldn't receive respect.
yeah but since when did clothes purely convey a sense of identity. the way the individual twin acts is a far more important indicator of individuality. playing the devil's advocate here slightly - i agree it's odd that women so old should be dressed the same!
Maybe it is more acceptable when young but i believe should be dressed slightly different to encourage individuality and to create there own identities rather than just being thought of as "the twins" and not sepreately. Where i work there are these 22 year old twins who dress identically day in day out and everything is the same right down to there socks / earings / hair band colours / watches and i find it pretty odd. I mean they are never thought of as individually and i find it odd that someone of that age would discuss what they are going to wear for work together and come dressed the same makes me feel something must be missing to feel like they have to be like that or for security or something?
Being an identical twin myself, my opinion on dressing twins the same (ESPECIALLY) identical twins is not a great idea. Most of the twins i know (along with myself and sister) have grown up being constantly compared to eachother.. and it does cause, especially in the older teenage years, a sense of, "am I really a whole person?.. or just one half of a set!".. I think.. when twins are babies, its fine.. they don't really know what theyre wearing anyway, but when twins get to the age where they will interact alot more with other kids (for example f schooling age) i think its very important to make sure they dont always look the same. When i started school with my twin sister, she used to wear a school dress, and i'd wear a school skirt and shirt.. it wasnt a major difference.. in fact i cant even remember noticing it.. but it made things alot easier for other people.. and also gave me a sense of individuality when i went to put my uniform on in the mornings ( when i got a little bit older). I think a lot of people tend to forget that in todays world, everyone is entitled to their own individuality.. including twins who ARE their own people.. they just happen to have someone walking around who looks just like them!!!...... if your best mate dressed exactly the same as you did every single day.. you would probably feel a little annoyed!! Hope this is of help!
