Graham Linehan hits my funny bone square-on - I think Father Ted, The IT Crowd, Black Books and Motherland are works of inspired genius. Other's probably don't think that.
I've seen it said there's no such thing as "cancel culture" - I've even seen it said on this board, but that is just simply a lie. Linehan has been cancelled.
Linehan has been cancelled for holding views that the vast vast majority of people believe, such as;
1. Sex is immutable.
I hate to break it to those that thrive in cancelling, but this is 100% biologically correct - get over it.
2. Women (you know, the old-fashioned women, those that have a uterus), deserve their own spaces.
3. Transgender women (or men as they used to be called) have no place competing against real women in sport.
Leith Arches, the venue that has cancelled him has done so because they are "inclusive". Surely by cancelling him they have shown they are very much not inclusive.
Can anybody tell me why one of the greatest comedy writers of all time has been cancelled for holding views that the vast majority of the population agree with?
I haven't posted a link simply because there's far too many and I couldn't decide which one was the best to highlight the bigoted view of those who cancel.
The solution is obvious. We need to prevent the woke brigade having any influence on anything. Prevent them speaking wherever possible. If there's a woke person doing anything near you, campaign to get it cancelled.
No, I disagree as that goes against the free speech I believe in.
What does need to be looked at is a potential law of using Social Media to 'cancel' people. And it needs to be enforced especially where rape and death threats or any violence is suggested.
And this applies to all who do this, not just the 'wokies'.
I find it extremely arrogant that a tiny minority stopped people who had paid good money from watching the show just because they decided to cancel somebody whose views represent the vast majority.
