Good evening, all.

I hope that you’ve all had a good week and that you won’t get swept away by Storm Betty this weekend. (Am I the only one here who can never hear the name ‘Betty’ without thinking of Frank Spencer declaring “Ooh, Betty!”?)

I achieved my usual ‘middling’ score, of FOUR out of seven, in the main quiz this week:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-66527368

However I scored a very rare (for me) maximum FIVE out of five in the junior quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780

I could only manage a ‘passable’ FOUR out of ten in the speed event though:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-66493147

So, if my addition is correct (which can never be guaranteed), that’s an aggregate score of 13 for me this week. You can do better than that though, can’t you?

Oops!

I've just spotted that I've accidentally ignored Peresever's post! Sorry about that, P!

Well done on some reasonably good scores, anyway. (Yes, I agree. Reading too many AB posts is never good for one's brain!)

Hi, Scorpiojo!

Welcome to the Thirteen Club!
2/7,4/5,5/10. Hasn’t been the best week this week, came home from work on Tuesday to find Puss Puss hopping on 3 paws. One trip to vet later, probably has an infected cat bite in his left back leg, painkillers and antibiotics for the lad, he’s not too keen on them and half of it seems to go on the floor but at least the back paw is going to the floor now. He’s not too impressed he hasn’t been allowed back out yet. Hope it’s better in your house, looking after Magic and Norman again this week

Hi, Campbellking.

Thanks for allowing me to beat you this week ;-)

I'm sorry to hear about poor little Puss Puss but it's good to know that he's on the way to recovery.

Everything is much the same here. Moonbeam has made a start on destroying my new trainers. (He loves to use them as a scratching post - but only when I'm wearing them!). Tablo has suddenly taken a liking to blue cheese (after only liking cheddar up until now). Chequers is as big, daft and soppy as ever and still loves to cuddle up alongside me when I'm in bed. I had a good evening on Monday, inflicting my performance poetry on the audience at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket, which (amazingly!) seemed to go very well.

Not outstanding, maybe, Kwillmott, but at least you've steered well clear of any disasters.

Thanks for joining in!

I'll bump this post 'cos we quite often seem have a few takers on a Saturday night.

Pretty dismal...
Sorry I'm late...sneaked off to Cardiff for an internetless 82nd birthday bash with family which was lovely.
Shady seems to have survived i.e. he never noticed my absence. Hope you and your specials are all doing OK .. :-))
Knew there was something i'd forgotten to do this busy weekend. All the fives, this week; 5/7, 5/5 & 5/10.

Hi, Haras2.

it's lovely to see you posting, even if it is a bit late. My weekend's never complete without news of you and Shady :)

I'm glad that you enjoyed the birthday event.

My lot are all fine thanks, as I hope that you and Shady are too. The only real news from here is that I inflicted some of my performance poetry on the audience at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket, which seemed to go down surprisingly well.

Hiya, Ken!

Well done on your consistency, on being a perfect kid this week and on achieving such a good aggregate score!
Not much of a challenge from me this week Chris, LOL

Ooh!

A Sunday surge!

Nice to see you back again, Canary42!

At least you managed to steer clear of any zero score this week :-)

Better luck next time!
I bet your Dylan Thomas rendition of "Do not go gently..." went down a treat in Stowmarket :-))
