Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student - Service Desk Edition?

I have been offered for sale via a website, Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student "service desk edition". I use Excel and Word at work, and often have to bring work home with me. Does anyone know what the difference is between the service desk edition, and the software package you would buy in the shops like PC World etc?

I don't know the difference, but save yourself some money by going to www.openoffice.org and downloading their free office suite, it is compatible with Microsoft Office.

Looks like it comes in small packaging with a hook on the back to hang it from a retail display, takes up less room.

The license allow you to install it on up to 3 PCs.

Note it only comes with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote

Many thanks Mattie, and vehelpfulguy. The link with the answer was just the ticket. Matie, I deidn't know openoffice was compatible with MS. I often haver to bring work home, which is done using excel. From what you say, my excel spreadsheets saved on my memory key,will still work with "openoffice" and function in a similar way. Is this the case? If it is, and I make changes to the spreadsheet when in openoffice, will this saved work be recognised when i go back to my work pc? Thanks

You can open existing excel spreadsheets with Openoffice or create new ones and save them as excel files, by selecting file - save as and selecting the file format.
To be safe you can save them somewhere else on your PC to keep the original intact until you get the hang of it.
