Just watched a clip on TV. Wouldn't fancy getting into a driverless taxi in San Francisco or anywhere else.
How about you?

I watched the same clip and thought exactly the same.
No way (although it would be a nice change not to have to listen to a relentless Far Right monologue.)
Most taxi drivers act like robots
Some taxi drivers work all day in another job and drive for hours at night, half asleep. That scares me.
Don’t trains and planes mostly operate themselves these days?
Do you never use planes, trains or coaches, retro? Or let your wife drive you?
Watch a few dashcam videos on YouTube; see the antics of many licensed taxi drivers and then review your opinion.
I'd feel far safer in a driverless taxi than I would in the cars of quite a few taxi drivers that I've travelled with!

For example, some years ago a local taxi firm around here had a driver who only knew two speeds: 'stop' and 'go'. He'd drive at about twice the speed limit and then charge his passengers about 50% more for the journey than any of his colleagues did.

In Lille I travelled in a cab, in busy city centre traffic, where the driver was not only speeding but watching a movie on the screen below his dashboard at the same time!
Scientists have still to finalise the ambience of taxi driver miasma, settling in the meantime for gone-over milk brushed onto kippers then placed in a heating vent.
^^^ I think that the Turkish barber who cut my hair a couple of weeks ago had that stuff smeared all over him, Douglas :)
