Samsung Washing Machine Ww80J5556Mw Not Completing Any Cycle

My daughter has the above samsung washing machine 4 years old. It will not complete any programme, it starts off and then fails to rinse or spin. No error code comes up but there is a symbol constantly flashing. This symbol looks like a tub with two vertical lines going down. We can only find a tub with one line in the instruction book. No idea what is wrong but the washing is piling up and driving her crazy. Any help appreciated thanks.

Thanks Tuvok, lots seem to have the same problem which is a bit of a surprise, but none of them seem to have answered what this symbol actually means. I’ve looked at lots of Samsung symbol charts and still can’t find it.

Checking the filter is always the first thing to do with a washing machine problem. If there is a blockage in the filter the machine can't empty properly hence can't continue with the programme.

She has cleaned out the filter and also pulled the machine out from the wall and checked the out pipe going to the drain to make sure there is nothing blocking it.
