Too early for Xmas?
16 Answers
When do ABers think it is appropriate for shops to start plugging Xmas merchandise? Obviously many shops start their promotions and run ups at the start of October, meaning three bloody months worth of tinsel, gift packed deoderant and festive tack..... In an ideal world, what do think the appropriate retail 'run up' should be?

Also Terry the creepy 'freezer filler upper' who took it upon himself to follow me round the freezer bit told me that they're getting their turkeys in next week.
got to admit I get giddy over Xmas - I've never quite grown up, I adore Crimble. As soon as summer's over I'm looking forward to it.

After bonfire night as Curiosity said.
They started putting the Christmas lights up in Manchester already, were some up last week although they are not lit til the 9th November. Christmas stff appearing everywhere and being bombarded with "book your Christmas meals/parties now" in all the pubs and such. Seems like madness to me! I love Christmas but it's too early and takes some of the novelty away.
Can't wait for the Christmas Markets in the town hall square though, fresh bratwurst, gluwein and mini pancakes with cream and chocolate sauce...bliss, and a great night out!
