Why do we Cringe at certain things? For example I hate it when 2 emory boards are rubbed together! some people hate nails down a blackboard? why is this?

puuling paper tissues out of cups...euwwww especially when they are a little bit stuck on. Making me cringe just thinking about it. Not answered your question though, sorry!!

synthetic foam (the sort you get in seat pads etc) or synthetic cotton wool - for some reason, I involuntarily imagine what it's like to bite on it. dont' ask me why!

I hate sand. I hate having it on me or near me. I don't like dust, soil, talc or flour being on my hands and if I have to pick up something made of terrcotta I could actually cry. I think it's maninly because I hate my hands being too dry.

Also I loathe having my bellybutton touched. Makes me lash out like a crazy person.

the though of putting cotton wool near my mouth or anyone else doing it. or seeing anyone put things up their nose for instance watching on telly a doctor retrieve a pea from up a kiddies nose once made me nearly sick

Thank Christ for that! Everytime I mention it I get the "you're a freak" look. The same look I reserve for my friend: if she sees someone rubbing their eyebrows and making the hair go the wrong way she goes nuts.
