English dictionaries are all descriptive and not prescriptive so that even wrong uses are put down as uses ( disinterested as uninterested).

so it all depends if the word persists. 

kinksville ( good) and even anti-kinksville ( bad) were widely used 1970-5 and now there is no trace - but groovy as in 'groovy, baby' does
