^^^ I'd never consider putting flea collars on my cats. I've also given up on trying to get the 'spot on' treatments onto their necks. I've now switched to tablets, which can be crushed up and hidden in their food.
Rather than using monthly treatments (either over-the -counter or prescription products) though, which I've always found to start being ineffective before the full month is up, I'm now using the over-the-counter type (containing Nitenpyram) which can be topped up at any time without any fear about overdosing them.
Both Bob Martin and Johnson's make similar tablets for dogs.
