I Had A Power Cut Today

not sure what caused it. totally strange, as I'm not known to get them often. (I think the last time I had one, I wasn't even on this site!)

The other week I was using my iron when I realised it wasn't hot, having checked fuses and eventually almost dismantling it I was about to log onto Argos when I noticed my bedside clock flashing.  There's been a short power cut wthout my realising it!

When the media were talking about the possibility of power cuts last winter, I invested in a couple of LED camping lanterns, like these ones

I keep one in my living room and one in my bedroom.  As long as a power cut doesn't last for absolutely ages, I reckon that with a well-charged laptop and phone, together with a lithium battery for my transceiver (and a gas cooker to boil water for a cuppa or to make a meal), I'm not going to be too bothered by one :)
