When I was a boy in the mid-late 50's my parents used to holiday here every year. I would like to take my mother back there but cannot find where it used to be or if it's changed its name. There's a "Coopers Lodge" on Crystal Rd but I don't think it's that one. I remember it was a smallish terraced place near the front. Can anyone tell me how to find it please. Many thanks.

There are 100s of B&Bs and guest houses in Blackpool. Near the 'front' almost every house is a guest house. It is going to be almost impossible to identify one from the 1950s. Have you got any idea what the road name was?
I live in Blackpool and agree with Eddie. Unless you can be more specific with your 'placement' of the guest house it'll be nigh on impossible.

Plus, there is a great deal of development going on at present with complete rows of terraces being demolished to make way for new housing.

you could try lookng up ads in old newspaper files, if local newspapers have kept any.
Good thought. Does Blackpool have a library with a microfiche facility/records ?
It'd be a pain looking for a Guest House without knowing if they advertised locally though.
Find a website or Facebook group for people interested in "Blackpool past". Ask if anyone who has a Kelly's Directory (or similar) for the period could look this up for you.
The Local History Centre in Blackpool might have kept old tourist brochures from that period. Email them: [email protected]

Thank you all - yes will contact local history centre, don't know the road but it was near the Foxhall Tavern and the "Manny Arms". Cheers.

In case you are still looking, Think this guest house was featured on an episode of 'Look at Life' shown on Talking Pictures tv called 'Lady by the sea.'  I have also been looking for it and think based on the location you have described that it was on Blundell Street, Blackpool. It has been demolised to make way for the 'Foxhall Village' scheme.  There are still a few photos on the internet of houses on that street as it had the tram depot across the road from it.
