I always use it now, if I want mash. It's really, really nice and if you didn't know, you'd really think it was proper mashed potatoes.

I have a bag of frozen mash in the freezer too, which is also good for topping cottage pie, etc.

Anything for an easy cooking life these days for me, providing it tastes nice, and both frozen mash and Idaho mash do.

I always make extra mash and freeze the surplus.  It thickens stews and casseroles as well as topping for shepherds and cottages

What are you having the mash with for dinner Barry?

I had it a couple of weeks ago with liver, carrots and cabbage.

Mr lottie would be upset if I bought some.  He loves preparing veg!!  I don't.  Besides he does all the cooking now.  But I really don't like very smooth creamy  mash.  Son does all the cooking at their home too and the food shopping.  He's a very inventive cook

Vagus, bœuf bourguignon with root vegetables

Oh yum, Barry 😋

Have you ever made beef carbonade or beef with pickled walnuts? Both are deeelicious!

I used to like fiddling in the kitchen Lottie, but these days my back and energy won't allow it so I'm all for cutting corners where poss. How are you today? x

I'm pleased to say it was a success as my oldsters really liked it, so that will be quick and easy to knock up when my wife and I want something else.

It is much better than the Smash as I remember it and a goodly amount.

I will still be making proper mash, though.

I would never have known about it without AB, so thanks, Sqad

Beef carbonate is a slow cooker winter favourite of ours, I sometimes make it with cheek.
