Perhaps they would accept a UN resolution that partitions the area into seperate Arab and Israeli areas with Jerusalem being declared a seperate entity governed by an International committee. You would think this a sensible and pragmatic approach.............

 

It was indeed the very proposal( Resolution 181)  put forward by UNSCOP(UN Special Committee on Palestine) a committee made up of 11 Countries. It was accepted by the Israelis and repeatedly turned down by the Palestinians. The Palestinians even then were being manipulated by the surrounding Muslim Countries and there has been violence and bloodshed ever since. Including a full scale attack by Egypt and Syria during the Yom Kipur war.
