For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You need a bit torrent client like Azureus http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ then a peer protecting client like peer guardian http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/ You need to ensure that you have the correct ports open on your pc and router then you need the actual torrent itself http://thepiratebay.org/
A torrent is the term applied to this way of downloading. Basically you start downloading a file from other peoples computers a bit from each. As you get bits of the file you also send bits to other people. Once you have the whole file you can keep offering it for download for others. If you have the whole file you are called a seed. If there are no seeds then it may be that the whole file is not available. As with any peer to peer download you need to be carful not to be compromised by viruses or spyware. There are lots of torrent sites available. Most are free as is Azurus.

I use Torrentspy (http://www.torrentspy.com/) to download the torrent file and the client I use is uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/). I would say that 4 or 5 hours is normal for downloading a movie.
