Ip54 And Ip65

i need a bathroom ceiling light (flush with ceiling)and was told it had to be IP65 compliant. There are loads of bathroom lights IP54 compliant and advertising they are suitable for areas prone to steaming up. Whats the difference?? thank you in advance

An IP65 rated product will be fully protected against dust and airborne particles whilst also be protected against water jets which would allow the machine to be washed down, while an IP54 rating offers dust protection (but not total) and protects against splashing of water but not wash-down

IPX4..or IP44 is a minimum requirement..(without water jets present).Check out the zone in which you wish to locate the fitting.If it falls within certain 'risk' zones you will need a better protected fitting
