Does Christmas Begin On October The 21St.

Channel 5 is showing the film 'Christmas Bells Are Ringing' ......they must be out of their tiny minds. One sixth of the year to go and they launch this on us.

Personally, I think it's about time a law was passed that limits the season, say to start from Dec 1. This Santa commercialism is getting out of hand. Maybe we ought to be like the Americans and drop a late November holiday in place that acts as a barrier, Christmas only beginning the weekend after Thanksgiving, having got through their Black Friday, traditionally the day when department stores swung their annual profit into the positive.

M&S already have Christmas stuff on displayin their main Belfast store.

I suppose it won't be long before we can see Again, The Great Escape on TV.

Channel 52 on freeview has been showing Christmas films for weeks now.  I think it is the only thing they show from October until Christmas.

My grand-daughter's birthday is on the 9th of September.  She says Christmas countdown starts on the 10th!  Mine starts at the beginning of December.

Well I've just bought all chocs and stuffing and Xmas cards and biscuits for Xmas as am.on mainland and can't get them in ibiza.  Mr N would not allow me to buy yet another Xmas tree for the patio!

well I bought my turkey this week on special offer as I was told it would ok to keep until Christmas if I put it in the freezer straight away.

"Jingle Bells" came over the tannoy in my local garden centre on 31 Oct. last year. I furiously told a member of staff to turn it off or I would leave, stating that Remembrance Day had not even been commemorated. A few others applauded.

Cherry and pistachio mille-feuille

Cheese board.

Coffee and mince pies.

My eldest daughter wants to book all the family in somewhere nice for Xmas Dinner this year. There's a lovely big pub, a quarter of a mile up the road we might use. I'm looking forward to not getting stressed cooking for several people! 😁
