Computer from Scratch
HI Guys
I need some tips please on how do I go about completley restarting my computer? I dont have a lot of files on my computer so losing them wouldn't be a problem I just want to start a fresh and get my computer working better than it is now. Im a novice to this and was wondering if there was a website that gives me step by step guides to do it right. Can anyone help?

If you reboot your PC and press DEL (or something similar) as soon as all the jargon appears in the initial "dos" screen then it takes you into the BIOS setup where you can have a nosey about and change the "first boot device" to CD.
Simply "save & exit" with the CD in & bob's your auntie. Sounds really simple when you say it fast! (It actually is really simple).
Incidentally, I've gotten into the habit of saving anything that I need to keep on a separate drive altogether.
If you don't physically have 2 hard drives then I'd consider (1) getting a 2nd one - they're cheap. OR
(2) creating a partition on your existing drive where you save valuable stuff like photos. A partition is just a way of instructing your PC to think of one physical hard drive as 2 (or more) *separate* spaces
