Assuming you are home most of the day and drink hot drinks do you use a clean cup each time and end up with a stack of dirty cups to wash up?  Or do you properly wash up after each drink?

We all have our own distinctive mugs and cups and we use the same ones throughout the day - if I am feeling energetic they might get waved under a running tap between uses (we all have the same drink, we don't swap between tea and coffee).

They get washed up after dinner.  Are you a laid back lazy bum like me or a dedicated one use only drinker?

China...what's that? 😆

I mostly have mugs...large ones. Many in shades of teal/turquoise...a few hand painted. A lot of my decorative mugs hold plants. I don't do white.

I dont drink tea. I only have 2 coffees with cream in the morning, using the same unrinsed mug. Then it gets lovingly hand washed by moi.

I always have a fresh cup, while 'er indoors is happy to reuse hers. She even moans if I try to change it for a new one when making the tea.

Odd really because in everything else she has much higher standards than me. I don't understand women.

I have a large set of bone china mugs for entertaining, but when on my own I have a large size cup and saucer (holds about 2 mugs-worth of coffee or tea) - rinsed out after every use.

I sulk if anyone else uses my mug.  We have a matched set of mugs for visitors.

I am now put in mind of my mother's teapot.  It sat stewing all day on the flap that folded down from the grate at the front of the open fire.

She would empty it each morning, make a full pot of tea and top it up throughout the day with more tealeaves and boiling water. By mid afternoon you could almost stand a spoon in it.

I can't stand dirty cups and it really bugs me if someone tries to serve me a drink in one.

Same for glasses!

I do have penchant for travel mugs - without handles - they keep my coffee warm for longer when at my desk otherwise I get up every 15 minutes to reheat or make another.

I have a range of different mugs for different drinks, pottery for coffee, China for tea, glass for herb tea,  fine bone China cup and saucer for black tea,  a China bowl style mug for hot chocolate.  I wash them between uses but not if that use involved multiple refills, e.g if I make a lot of tea or coffee I would use the whole pot before washing up..

Gosh! It's a long time since I came across such an interesting topic! Anyway, there's just the two of us in the house now, and we both have our own mugs, which we use at breakfast only. Our mugs used to be both the same size, but one got broken. I won't say whose mug it was, but my wife now uses a replacement mug. Our mugs are meticulously washed after every breakfast, and they don't see daylight until the next morning. Well! I'm pleased to get that off my chest!

I have a coffee mug and several tea mugs. I simply cannot have tea in the coffee mug, or vice versa.

Well, despite the fact that I don't really like mugs,I seem to have managed to collect quite a few!

Mostly presents it has to be said.

So I tend to use a mug,and then put it on the draining board ready for cleaning and reuse.

However(like many people here) I do have a favourite mug, which get used more than some others.

Given that I am not really a mug "person",it's my teacups and saucers that get used more,a mug is just not really refined enough for me,but I  realise that I am giving in to them slowly! LOL

My (at present) favourite mug!

Nice mug, Nosey, but the wrong shape for me.  I prefer a tapered mug, a beaker I suppose.

Very peeved - I've just broken my 'craft group' mug on my way to said group ...bah and humbug and a few other things I'm not allowed to say 🤬🤬

Now I'll have to find a new one but back to the original ask - I only have a couple of hot drinks a day, I like my bone china mugs but I don't put them into the dishwasher so a hand wash for them

Shame about your broken mug.

Only two cups a day? That wouldn't do me

One cup of coffee, that's my lot.
