... isn't going well?  Do we start with trick or treat and bobbing for apples only to end up followers of the great horned one?

I have read too many Dennis Wheatley books to have any truck with the horned one.

I miss having trick or treaters visit, we used to have a few friends round for supper on Halloween, and I would go to the door in full witch gear, cackle a bit and shout back to  my guests. '' the snacks have arrived,'. Then break out a cauldron of haribos,

Penny for the guy, yes indeed I did. My granddad was asked that by some kids sitting outside of a pub. He gave them a penny, picked up the guy and ran into the pub with it. How they laughed.

I now observe Samhain, more for the connection with those who have gone before, maybe getting out my scrying glass, and tarot cards. It's the new year for pagans in the Celtic traditional time to meditate and set intent for the year to come

When I was a kid Halloween just passed by, you barely noticed it.

I dont like to see kids dressed up as witches etc. Most people dont know or acknowledge the spiritual world. There is a kingdom of light and a kingdom of darkness. Dont mess with the forces of darkness

Some churches now hold light parties for children to counter the darkness of Halloween

A nice thread for  little giggle Sandy, such a shame the usual suspects have turned it into something really sinister.

fiveleaves, if you see evil in children dressing up at hallowean, then I suggest you need to reassess your life. How exactly are they messing with the force of darkness?

Did no one ever tell him that laughter can banish darkness, and if these simple echoes of times before the religions of the book make children happy then so be it.  The goddess would smile and her followers bless the joy

A bit late to the debate, but....I read Dennis Wheatly's occult novels in my early 20's.

He was a prolific author and yet best remembered for his 9 black magic novels. None of which inspired me towards the dark arts 😂

Halloween passed uneventfully this year (as every other year) and the horned God has yet to show himself to me as has Jehovah!
