Software for personal diary

Every year since childhood, I have kept a personal diary, in book form.
From next year, I was considering using the computer instead.
Can anyone recommend any software packages I could consider? It is purely for personal information, not business. I would simply be writing a daily account of my humdrum life!
Many thanks.

Would your average word processor not do?
as fo3nix says, I find Microsoft Word perfect for this.
This much-praised (and free) software lets you start with a very simple diary but you can then easily add pictures, web-links, etc if you want to:

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you. I have been looking for book-style word processor for ages and this is perfect. I have even upgraded to the professional paid version immediately which is something I rarely do.

Thank you buenchico
