Average monthly cost of petrol now at £130 a month. As a retired couple this is now ridiculously excessive. Options? Stay in, walking not possible. Bus pass? Er no thanks.

Prices in 2012 , around £1.40 per litre. Current price £1.55, but I generally pay under £1.50.
18 months ago it peaked at over £1.80 so it's fallen quite a bit since then.
I'm sure you have considered the various options and like me decided against getting a bike or an electric scooter!
I do admit to excessive journeying as we live in the sticks and I like to get out most days, but I am working on the idea of driving near to the bus stop and getting the bus more often. How about it?
