Do you mean how many people died in the whole wide world ? or do you mean in the attacks?
just over 3000 died in the Twin Tower attacks, about 180 in the Pentagon and around 30ish when the passengers tried to take back the aircraft that crashed in the field.

It is forever changing and investigations are still ongoing, due to various reasons, such as freeloaders claiming thattheir loved ones were in the TT at the time, but were actually in truth still alive or were already dead. Also, the hijackers were excluded from official lists.
