A tough puzzle with frugal clues, treated throughout, but it all came together in a great ending. I loved it - many thanks, Charybdis.

It was tricky enough but for several clues I decided the answer had to be something (it wasn't) and wasted time and effort trying to make the wordplay fit. The spelled out message contained a word that was new to me so more time wasted thinking I had gone astray. As I don't submit, the mess I made of the final step does not really matter, but now I realise that was easier too.
So thanks, Charybdis, I think.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I like to post after I've finished the puzzle, however useful or otherwise it might be to others. I've invested a lot of time and mental energy in solving the puzzle, and it helps me to share some of my immediate thoughts and feelings, as well as thank/give feedback to the setter (if any are reading). I set the odd puzzle myself, so I like to read/understand how solvers feel after they've tackled one.
Well, after last week's puzzle I was hoping for something a bit easier. Sadly, it was not to be.
With my workload at the moment, this puzzle has been done in bits again. If anything, I thought the clues were even tougher than last week's puzzle.
It will be interesting to see if my rendering of the endgame correlates with that expected. I think it fulfills everything needed.
Thanks, Charybdis. That was quite a struggle for this solver.
