I am so bad at keeping in contact with people and always feel bad about talking to people have known a while. I find when i meet up they are doing more interesting and intelligent things than me.

So most of the time i tend to let them contact me i dont like to look like i am desperate to be around people. I have been quite deppressed of late and find it hard to get on with people and also to get along with new people.

Any advice would be great i have some time off work after this week and need to contact a friend to go and see her maybe if she is free next week.

thanks bob yer i know your always the most happy person in the world.!
I have had the same problem with some of my friends, they have a better job a nice new car or whatever. But are they really happy YES!! but I couldn't give a **** anymore. Life is too short to worry about things like that.
I love my family to bits and most of my friends few exceptions. I have my pets also you can tell them anything in confidence. lol

Everyone finds new people hard to get along with, you don't know what to say, do etc.. Just stick to general topics nothing over their heads.

As for the friend you want to see-
Pick up the phone, dial her number and say to her you would like to meet up. It's pretty easy!, give it a go you have nothing to loose.

Best of luck!!

yes but she is a long train journey away and would have to stay with her for a day or two and i am so funny about staying over with people.

Not seen her since a party in june it would be good to see her more often but she works in the week and in my current job i work weekends. I would like to get a job where i can use my weekends for me/friend time but not got that job yet!
steve have you ever tried spontaneity? Do you think about things too much maybe? do you use text messaging? it is easy and people do appreciate even the smallest message to show you are thinking of them.
I understand what you mean, But how about spending a night in a b&b close to where your friend lives. That way you wont have to stay the night in hers and you could tell her your on business in the area, and you thought you might call in since you were near.

hum we were at uni together and only been a year since we left uni so i should not feel so inhibited about staying over.

Yes i should text more as i am not great on the phone, so i suppose texting does send the message that i want to stay in contact.
You should get her E-mail address if she has one, or MSN.
Question Author
just chatted to her on msn. but what makes me unsure about keeping in touch is that chatting on msn is a bit here and there with the questions.

i dont think we have so much to talk about because

1.because i am feeling low
2. we are far apart and dont have general uni things in comman
3 and i am not doing much in terms of things outside work.
so talk about sport, music, TV, movies, gossip, send jokes, ask advice, have a moan about work, ask her questions, be interesting.

ok i know i dont try enough with the bits of life that matter. Its easier not to do the things i am not good at and do more of what i am good at.

Im good at my job i think and do work very very hard for too little money - well others say well they are only being paid x amount so wont work hard, i say i am here to get the job done and wont go slow!
steve take a mini holiday dude, u probably could do with one
