Their main problem was the lack of a sensible male figurehead and all manner of pretenders of dubious credibility were put forward (Lambert Simnel etc), but certainly contemporary evidence suggests that the country was very dsunited for many yars after Bosworth with Yorkist, Lancastrian factionality still very much to the fore. As Prince Arthur grew and the prospect of there being a first Yorkist/Lancastrian king beckoned this lessened to some degree, but it was still clearly uppermost in Henry VIIII's mind when he had the aged Lady Salisbury (Yorkist/Plantagenet heir apparent) executed some 57 years after the alleged "unification" in 1541, so the brief answer is that the houses of York and Lancaster never truly were reconciled with one another but simply a Tudor usurper was possibly the first master of spin.
