Trying to stop myself doing a bad thing.

 

A woman in my Nextdoor group is advertising 'charcuterie boards, order now for Christmas'.

I thought that made a change from the Christmas Eve boxes, door wreaths, stockings, elves, lollipop trees and was intrigued.

Clicked on the post and what did I see? Plates of biscuits, apparently home made. £20. What a disappointment, what a misuse of a French word.  I have a very strong urge to tell her.

It's a group for local people who have to use their real identities.

The group I'm part of is very useful as the local police, councillors and MPs are all involved so we get information about local crime, planning applications, roadworks, problems.

Lots of 'for sale and free', lost and found, upcoming events, missing persons as well as a few truly idiotic posts.

Piggy, google next-door and your post code and see what you get.  It's a group of people who live in the same area and offer tips for good trades people, happenings in their area, selling stuff, all sorts.  Tip offs if there is a bike thief in the area, a lost dog or cat. Have a look.  Remember everyone is not honest though.

I see quite a few videos from doorbell cameras in my next door group - folk wanting to know what people were doing on their drive.  99% of the time they are innocent people and the homeowners would never have known about them if they didn't have the camera.

Do see a few up to no good, though
