10:22, Mozz, I just don't see why they annoy people. As I said in other posts they are meant to be comedic observations of silly quiz show answers. The old family fortunes ones in the past did not seem to attract so much anger. Perhaps a lot of people see themselves and don't like it.

They don't come over at humorous thpugh Tora, the come over at extreme arrogance. I never saw your Family Fortune posts but I can imagine what they contained. The difference is the format of the two shows, where The Chase ask specific questions. You either know the answer or you don't. Family Fortunes is different, as it's not based on general knowledge.

fourteen - your post reminds me of an incident many years ago. Someone I worked with had emigrated to Canada and had come back here for a visit. She told me she was cutting up potatoes to make chips and a small Canadian child watched in amazement and said "So that's where chips come from"; he'd only seen chips come from a bag in the freezer.

I think so, but we didn't do anything too difficult 'cos we weren't really interested.

TTT you might not believe this, but it's absolutely true.

The school I went to was an all-girl school and very much like St Trinians.

I remember very clearly the day the maths teacher asked us if we would like to learn algebra.

Hands up girls. Well, I think a few put their hands up and the teacher decided not enough of us were interested, so we didn't do it. That is a true story.
