MOZART : "Ah!, vous dirai-je, maman"
As the question (subject: Twinkle, twinkle, little star) dates from about one year, I taught useful to put my comments also in a new entry............HUMMMMM.....SO........It was very " la mode" for composers to write VARIATIONS on other composers' themes or using popular tunes. When it was their own theme, it was always SPECIFICALLY mentionned...... So we know FOR SURE that MOZART DID NOT compose the melody in question..................... MOZART wrote 12 Variations on "Ah!, vous dirai-je, maman, K.263 , for keybord (1778). The theme, a favorite one for variations at this period, may possibly be by Alexandre-Nicolas DEZDE (1740-1792)............(suite next post...)

Legrand.............................
