Speedy Passport Service.

Less than a week ago, I applied for a new passport. I was nicely surprised when it turned up this morning after 6 days! A friend of my OH told us to expect at least 9 weeks. So pleased I done it on line, so much quicker and less hassle. Anyone else had good or bad experiences with getting new passports?

So what do you have to do to apply online - just fill in a form and post old passport selerately ? What about photos ?

If you need a photo there are booths everywhere that give hard copies and a digital code you can use in the online process.

Yes. Photo booth at local post office. A code that I entered, and hey presto - my bank robber-like mug shot appeared.

The passport office said don't book to travel until you have the passport. Too late! I booked to go away then realised I had a problem.

Two emails overnight. One saying application approved, the other that it has been printed.

Blimey! That was quicker than mine!

No, you don't have to sign for it. You should have message to say what time to expect it. eg. Between 10.30am - 2pm.

All services should be as efficient as this. What a diffence it would make to people's lives?!
