The Couple Next Door
Did anyone else waste their time on this steaming pile of garbage? How on earth this ever made it to the screen is an utter mystery.
Preposterous story; unlikable, unbelievable characters; clunky script and direction; meant to be set in Leeds but the houses obviously were in Europe; and the 'exciting'denouement at the cabin in the woods (hinted at in the opening shots of the first episode) was as laughable as Sam Heughan's attempt at a Yorkshire accent.
It really was toe-curlingly embarrassing to watch. Not only that, but it just sort of petered out - good grief, they wouldn't, couldn't inflict another series on us, could they?

It seems that Brainiac's opinion is widely shared!
It was filmed in the Netherlands ( no idea why!). From the 1st episode I found it so unbelievable that both these young ordinary working couples would have houses of that size! The whole set/plot looked as tho it was actually filmed in America. Hugh Dennis's character looked seriously ill, tho I assume that was to give him the creepy pervy neighbour look.
And yes I stuck out the first 2 episodes but found the whole thing just so odd .......
