I want to buy a good orthopaedic office chair to allay ongoing back problems.

Net searches reveal a bewildering array of styles and prices - how can I make an informed choice?

Your height and weight will make a big difference to the chair's support and comfort.

It might be worth keeping an eye on Facebook MarketPlace.  Office chairs are offered for sale almost every day in every area, with some really smart ones going for perhaps £30. 

If you could find something offered in your area, you could go and try it out before parting with your money and, at that price level, with no real worries about finding out later that it's not really suitable for your needs.

I worked with a severely disabled chap whose office chair was quite remarkable.  It gave fabulous support but it felt as if I was sitting on fresh air, moving with me, fully supportive at all times.

It was an ugly looking thing but I bet it was expensive. No idea who made it

Would you consider a kneeling chair? I used one for several years and found it very good. I initially approached it with suspicion, but almost immediately realised it was the best office chair I'd had. I just did a search and they seem expensive! I would recommend that you try one out before purchase.

They are no good for me as I have never been able to put any kind of pressure on my knees, it is impossible for me to kneel
