Is the step father of my sons girlfriend a grandfather to their child?

He's a step-grandfather technically.  But he can still very much  be a grandad.  My mother and father treat my step-daughter as a precious grandchild.  (And in fairness, had I have been lucky enough to have had a daughter I'd be jolly proud of one just like her).

I don't do the 'step' label - not for my children, or theirs.

Labels are pointless, love and family are what count.

Technically he's 'step-grandad' of course.  Technically I am a 'Step-grandma- as well as a grandma.  Since OH's kids are all grown up I am known as 'sort-of-Grandma', but to the 4 great-grandchildren I am simply 'Great-grandma'.  Blood is important, but the relationship is equally so.
