Strangeness & No Charm...

This is relevant to both my PC & laptop (both running W10) & in Firefox, Edge & Chrome.  Only AB is showing the symptoms.

For the last 3 days, when I open a thread the page loads slightly down from the top then jumps back up.  I'll try to explain with some snippets -

This is what the top of the page looks like on loading - https://ibb.co/M5mfF9Q - note the gap between the faint top line & the dark line (Bookmarks bar).

After a few seconds the page flicks back to normal - https://ibb.co/dDncJ8P

If I refresh the tab (in Edge or Chrome, not Firefox), it jumps to this - https://ibb.co/68hwyjd - and a scroll brings it down.  Refreshing the tab in Firefox gives me pic 1 then pic 2.

Everything's fully updated, I've tried the browsers in "Safe" mode (add-ons & extensions disabled), have cleared all the caches, & restarted the PC.  SpareEd has told me via email that the techies haven't altered anything.

Is this really just happening to me?  If that's a "yes", can anyone suggest where I go from here?  It's very irritating & I want it to stop.  Now.  Forthwith.

All sensible suggestions welcomed 🤔🙂

I don't know whether you are running a 3rd party security prog. LiK but have you tried switching it off, and seeing if that changes the load sequence.

Togo, he's tried all three browsers in safe mode and has the same problem.  I would expect security software to be disabled in safe mode, am I mistaken?

It's certainly worth a try

I thank you for your posts, am off after this, back much later or tomorrow...

Togo, I tried disabling Norton (free with my BT package, so why not & never a problem with it) but there was no change, still got the jumpy load.

Looking at everything said, and knowing that LiK is teched up I would be wondering about his internet connection and this sites relationship. Both macines, various browsers, only one site showing behavioural attitude. I would try my laptop on a different web connection before expounding anymore thought if I were LiK.

I'm on the ipad now, using safari, and see it there as well - never noticed it before.

All websites consist of pages of code written in the web development languages HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. When a webpage appears to jump, this is not necessarily due to browser loading but is often the website redirecting from one page to a nearly identical page.

Togo @ 19:37 Fri - I can't do that until tomorrow - maybe.

PsalmEquipt - ok, but nothing useful or practical?  Ok.

Togo - I've been unable to try my laptop elsewhere as yet.  Been down with a bug that means everything aches like I've been run over by a steamroller & I've a crippling headache to boot.

The flickering is still happening as I originally described.

If I can manage it, I'll try tomorrow with the laptop.

Apologies, I've been quite unwell & forgot to update - it's still happening & the same with my laptop at a neighbour's house using their wi-fi.  Also happening on their desktop.

Thanks for the update, sorry you've not been chipper, hope your Christmas isn't spoiled.
